What is this event like? 

Many of our guests have described Barns, Farms and Wicked Chefs as a "magical evening". The setting is a rustic and elegant heritage farmstead re-done as a popular event space called EcoTay. You will be surrounded by beautiful barns, hay fields, woods and meadows. Throughout the compact site you will find chefs' booths each serving a distinct small plate featuring produce, meats and cheeses from the area. We work with our chefs to make sure vegetarian and gluten free options are available.

There are indoor/covered  and outdoor seating areas. Some guests prefer to stay standing, cocktail party style, as the move from one area of the party to the next. Food is mouth watering and you can wash it down with a local craft beer, regional wine, a cocktail with local craft spirits, kombucha, water, coffee and tea. 

Talented musicians add to the ambiance and have been known to hold a lively jam session to end the evening.

 

What is The Table Community Food Centre?

The Table is a community-based charity in Perth Ontario that is focussed on working with low-income community members. We work to make sure that everyone in our community has access to good, healthy food; has a supportive, social meeting place; has access to programs to improve their food literacy and that provide supports in dealing with life's challenges. Importantly we also work to mobilize our community to advocate for systemic changes that  will adress poverty and food insecurity. Our short Good Food Changes Lives videos provide a first person-perspective on the impact of our programs on community members. 

 

 Where is the event located? 

The event is held 15 minutes from downtown Perth at EcoTay, a heritage farmsted that has been retrofitted into a stunning event space. The address is 942 Upper Scotch Line, Perth, ON K7H 3C5. The site is on the corner of Upper Scotch Line and Menzies Munroe Side Road - with the event access off of Menzies Munroe.

Is there a dress code? 

No, not really. We encourage people to dress nicely but how far to go with it is up to you. You should know the ground is uneven and can be soft so you may want to re-think the heels. 

 

What does the ticket price include? 

Your ticket provides you with parking, unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is sold separately.

You will also receive an $80 charitable donation receipt.

 

Who are the chefs?

Each year we have a different line up of talented chefs from across Eastern Ontario and beyond. You can read about this years line up here.

 

If we come in from out of town where can we stay? 

For the first time in 2018 The Table is pleased to be working with Perth's Parkside Inn which is offering discounted room rates and a free shuttle to the event. To book your stay and tickets to the event call: 613-326-0082 x 1
