Gardens in Containers

This year at The Table Community Food Center we are happy to start a container gardening program.

This program is designed to provide a growing opportunity to our low income community members who would love to garden but are lacking resources to do so.

We will be providing our participants with a set of 3 pots, soil, vegetable plants and  gardening advice.

The plants we offer will provide a continuous harvest since they re grow after being picked. We will offer vegetables for replanting if necessary.

Plants available:

Kale, Chard, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Beans, Lettuce, Green Onions, Basil, Parsley, Nasturtium, Celery.

Program details:

There are two dates for our first session during which we will assemble our containers:

On June 4  at 3 pm and on June 6 at 12 30

We will meet for the first time at the community garden at Last Duel Park.  During this session we will talk about the principals of container gardening and choose which plants to put in individual containers. Participants will be able to take their pots home.

Delivery of planted containers is available to Perth residents.

We will meet once a month to discuss how our plants are doing, answer questions and exchange seasonal recipes.
