Need a Lift? The Table is Offering New Transportation Supports

Our participants have told us that transportation to The Table is one of the key barriers that keep people from coming to our programs. Unlike urban areas, people in Perth do not have the option of jumping on a bus or subway to get here or to other appointments or to shop etc.

Thanks to funding from the Perth and District Community Foundation and a partnership with Lanark Transportation The Table is now offering a variety of transportation supports to program participants and volunteers. These supports are being offered on a pilot basis to test their feasibility and uptake from community members.

Starting Friday February 15th we will be doing a pilot of a shuttle to The Table every Friday afternoon for people wishing to come to the Community Meal, Advocacy Office or Good Food Bank. Anyone in need of a ride to The Table and living within Perth can call Lanark Transportation to book a ride. The Shuttle will get people to The Table for roughly 3:45 and will depart The Table at 5:15. This is a new, experimental initiative and may change as we learn more about how best to meet the needs of our participants.

Rides must be booked ahead. To book a ride for the Friday shuttle call Lanark Transportation before 10am on the Thursday before you'd like a ride.

Call 613-264-8256 or 1-877-445-5777.

If you are a volunteer, or would like to volunteer with the Table but transportation is a barrier call us to see what transportation supports are available. Also if transportation is a barrier to a kitchen or social justice programs please let us know. We have other options available to support your transportation needs.
