In this workshop participants will gain knowledge and skills about successfully growing strawberries and raspberries.
 
The talk will cover day neutral and ever bearing strawberry culture. Variety of maintenance and growing styles  for both, Strawberries and Raspberries will also be discussed. 
 
 
Bare root strawberry plants will be available for purchase and planting at the workshop.

Facilitator: 

Josh Suppan (Fat Chance Farmstead) has been working in agriculture most of his life and has spent most of those years cultivating a wide variety of fruit across Canada. After moving to the Kingston area with his partner Jen Valberg they established their farm business and set their sights on the organic strawberry market, being one of two certified organic strawberry producers in the region. www.fatchancefarmstead.com

 
 
 
 2019 will be their 8th year running their farm, their first year offering 'pick your own' strawberries and raspberries and also the first year being the only certified organic strawberry farmers in the region.
 
Josh has plentiful experience growing both 'day-neutral'(ever bearing) and 'June bearing' (traditional) strawberry varieties as well as raspberry production.
