Seed Starting using Soil Blocks - GARDEN WORKSHOP

Go green this year with your seedlings and learn how to make soil blocks. Local farmer Sarah will show you how to start your spring seedlings using a soil block tool. Soil blocks use less plastic and provide a healthier environment for seedling roots to develop. This is a hands on workshop so be prepared to get messy.

About the Presenter:
 
Sarah is a first generation farmer that has learned through hands-on experimentation, working with nature, and absorbing information from books, internships, courses and other organic growers. Sarah’s background is in visual arts, education and community work. She has a passion for getting her hands dirty growing vegetables and loves the nuances of cultivating mushrooms. Sarah has been drawn towards farming because she values an honest, rewarding and self-sufficient lifestyle that feeds her community. She runs her farm "Wild Oak Homestead" with her partner Michael.
