JOB POSTING: After School Program and Community Garden Coordinator

The Table is currently seeking an individual to fill a maternity leave vacancy for one-year. The position includes coordinating and delivering our popular After School Program as well as coordinating the successful Community Garden Program.

The position is four days / week and will include access to The Table’s benefits package for fulltime employees.

The Table Goes to Market

On Saturday October 3, staff and volunteers from The Table, Perth’s Community Food Centre, are heading down Highway 7 to the Byward Market to be part Farmer Appreciation Week. From 11 am to 2pm, Chef Judy Dempsey, assisted by the others, will be sourcing local ingredients from market stands and demonstrating the best way to incorporate them into a delicious harvest soup.  The demonstration will occur in front of the main market building on George St.

What to do with Squash! Cooking Workshop

Come find out how many tasty things you can make with all different kinds of squash!
Cook together, share a meal, cooking ideas and recipes.
No registration required but RSVP appreciated.
Workshop starts at 9am, but you are welcome to come at 8:45 and have a coffee.

Hands-on Home Canning Workshop

Learn the basics you need to preserve your own food at home.  Learn safe sterilizing and sealing. Make and preserve two recipes and take a sample home with you. Relish, pickle and other recipes provided. No registration required, RSVP appreciated

Smooth Moves

Now that the sidewalks are clear and the sun is shining longer each day, it is a great time to get out for a walk. Have a Smoothie and join our walking group! After meeting to make our smoothies, we will take them with us for a walk around town.The length of route can be adjusted to each participant. The group will meet at The Table, 190 Gore Street, on Tuesday mornings at 10am for a 4 week trial period starting on April 21st. If it is too rainy on the day of the walking group to make walking enjoyable, there will be an indoor exercise planned.

Grow a Row - Share Your Harvest

Do you have a little extra room in the garden?A row of beans in a garden.

Why not plant an extra row this season and donate your harvest to The Table Community Food Centre. Donated produce will be distributed through our Good Food Bank and used in community meals.

Fending for Yourself: Youth Seminar

Students of Perth District Collegiate Institute are hosting this hands-on event featuring cooking demonstraion, a guest speaker on managing personal finances and a tour of the Table Community Food Centre. All youth from the Perth area are welcome.
