FoodFit

FoodFit is a 12-week program for community members living on a limited budget, who are motivated to make lasting changes to their health. The program combines fun, hands-on cooking sessions with-nutrition information, group exercise, take home recipes, shared meals, and self-directed individual and group goal-setting.
New Session Beginning in April 2019
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
Each three-hour FoodFit session is made up of 30 minutes of group exercise (usually outdoor walking), a health info discussion, and a hands-on cooking session ending with the sharing of a delicious and healthy meal.
FoodFit is focused on supporting members of the community who want to make long-term improvements to their health through diet and exercise. The program was designed by Community Food Centres Canada with the help of health care professionals and has been tested and implemented at several Community Food Centres.
The program has been designed to accommodate a wide range of fitness levels. Walking outdoors is the main form of exercise - no spandex or equipment required!
FoodFit aims to give participants simple, useful tools to navigate an increasingly complex food environment.
