Youth Summer Job At The Table - Community Gardener/ Kitchen Assistant (2023)

The Table Community Food Centre is seeking an energetic, responsible and motivated youth to fill a summer position with us.  The position  is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and is 35 hours a week for 8 weeks. Tthe wage is $17/hour.

The successful candidate will work in both the garden and the kitchen program at the Table. In the garden, tasks will include planting, tending, and harvesting the produce with staff and volunteers. In the kitchen, assistance will be required to prepare our community meals and to work with our Chefs in community food programs and events.

An ideal candidate will have an interest in horticulture and food, enjoy doing outdoor physical labor, be able to follow instructions carefully, be independent, and demonstrate leadership skills within their capacity.

All applicants must meet the Canada Summer Jobs criteria:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act2; and,
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial regulations.
