Yogurt Baked Chicken

1 – 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast

2 tsp minced garlic

1 TBS minced ginger

1/8 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 ½ tsp ground cumin

1 ½ tsp paprika

1 ½ tsp turmeric

2 tsp lemon juice

2 cups plain yogurt

2 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (1/2 tsp dried)

2 green onions, finely chopped



  1. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients except the chicken breasts.
  2. Add the chicken and using your hands (or tongs) coat the chicken well with the marinade.
  3. Cover and chill 30 minutes or several hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Spread the chicken on a baking sheet, in a single layer. Lining your baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, will mean less clean up!
  6. Bake, uncovered , for 30-40 minutes until your chicken is cooked through.  Cooked chicken has no traces of pink when cut or reaches an internal temperature of 75 C or 165 F.
